Description

The Purehold PRO is a pull door handle that automatically applies sanitising gel to the user's hand as they open the door, a simple way to lift hand hygiene at busy doorways in offices, healthcare sites and public buildings. An intelligent delivery system adjusts the amount of gel to the size of each hand, and the virucidal gel is tested to EN14476 with an 80% alcohol content.

To use it, grip the blue gel handle, pull the door open as normal, and rub your hands together. The robust aluminium handle sits on a stainless steel frame (compliant with BS 8424), with secure anti-theft gel storage and a low-gel indicator, a red flotation ball that appears in the reservoir window when the bottle needs replacing. Each refill lasts around 2,000 pulls.

It is fitted by a trained PureHold engineer and can usually be retrofitted onto existing pull-handle fixing points without drilling or screwing into the door. It is approved for use on FD30 and FD60 timber and steel fire doors, and comes with a 12-month warranty.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Purehold PRO?

It is a pull door handle that automatically dispenses sanitising gel onto the user's hand as they open the door. An intelligent delivery system adjusts the amount of gel to the size of the hand.

How effective is it?

PureHold reports independent testing found hands were 87% cleaner and the handle 98.5% cleaner than a standard door handle. The virucidal gel is tested to EN14476 and has an 80% alcohol content.

How is it fitted, and how often is the gel replaced?

It is fitted by a trained PureHold engineer, usually retrofitted onto existing pull-handle fixing points without drilling, and it is approved for FD30 and FD60 fire doors. Each gel refill lasts around 2,000 pulls, and the refills are bespoke to the PRO, so gel from other suppliers cannot be used.
